DIRECTORS BIO

Durim Kryeziu was born in Kosovo. He holds degree Bachelor and Master in Film & Television Directing - University of Pristina "Hasan Prishtina". He is a producer, writer and director of several short student films which have been selected and awarded at many international festivals.

LOGLINE

Lona follows her dream as a singing rock but gets hindered in the family because she has a traditional family. Lona has a lot of difficulty but in the end she finds a good choice in the circumstances created to continue her future...

synopsis

Lona and her friends are in a rock band. The kind of clothes these kids wear are a bit weird, at least to where they live. Leather clothes and a lot of piercing. Meanwhile, their ambitions for a successful future for the band grew higher, but Lona was also afraid of what her father would say when he finds out about her band, she’s afraid of driving away not only the honor of her family but hers too. Because of his suspicion that something was up with Lona her father continuously follows her and tries to watch every step she takes. Lona is late in the night and afraid to go home she goes to her grandfather in the village. Grandfather gives her protection by telling her father to support Lona. Lones comes to offer to go to London to sing. His father rejects, she asks for help from the grandfather who gives permission and also tells the father that the missing son during the war was found in a mass grave. In the last scene we see Lona continuing the journey to follow her future and while father and grandfather go to mass graves to indetify the missing from the war.

directors statement

Now, our society is going through a transition phase. After the last war, Kosovo has faced big ethical and social changes. Most of the time, these changes have been dealing with valuable recourses and the opposite, while bearer to those changes are my protagonists, two generations (the traditional one and the modern one), and the war between them to fit better in comparison to each other. I believe that my protagonists offer a little different view of our kosovan daily reality, which somewhat is losing its identity with these contradictions which are, the modern norms that have not yet been shown as values and the other, the traditional norms which in comparison to the modern norms in this transition phase, somehow they are losing their primacy. The story happens on today’s time.

Graduated in Acting at Faculty of Art in University of Prishtina at 2004 Bardhyl Bejtullahu its a film Producer. He took part in many International Festivals and Conferences for Film and Theater. Actually he works at the Faculty of Arts- UP as a Professor, also i productin two short film and some documentary.
