BAFTA WINNING SOUND EDITOR EDDY JOSEPH CONFIRMED AS A GUEST AND LECTURER

Eddy Joseph has been in the film industry for over 40 years and a sound editor for 30. He has collaborated with such directing luminaries as Alan Parker, Bernardo Bertolucci, Louis Malle, Jean-Jacques Annaud, Neil Jordan, Anthony Minghella and Paul Greengrass.

Garyʼs career composing music for drama spans more than 40 years and encompasses scores for the leading UK theatre companies, West End and Broadway productions, radio, television, film and concert hall.

His theatre scores include many for the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National TheatreWest End (including the English-language premieres of Yasmina Reza’s plays Art, The Unexpected Man, Life x 3 and  God of Carnage) and Broadway (2009 Drama Desk nomination for The Norman Conquests).

The second edition of MatchmakingForum focuses on presenting and sharing original film projects and emerging works.

The second edition of the MatchmakingForum will be held in co-operation and synergy for the duration of the Film Festival Days https://www.filmfestivalsdays.com/ and the International Sound and Film Music Festival http://www.isfmf.com/ from 18.10. 2019 to 21.10.2019 in the conference rooms of the Park Plaza Histria Hotel in Pula.

In the frame of the 65. Pula Film Festival, the first edition of the Matchmaking forum especially focuses on the presentation and exchange of original film projects and emerging works of partner film centers in order to encourage their development and production.

The idea of building networking capabilities of professionals involved in the production, not only cinema but the entire mode of the creative industry's visual sectors has its importance. 

The Matchmaking forum provides producers the opportunity to meet with more categories of financiers that participate in the creation of the necessary financial package for the production of a film. Distributors, sales agents, banks, private and public investment funds, regions and film commissions, broadcasters, internet platforms and so on.

The first edition of the Matchmaking forum will be held from 18 July 2018 to 21 July 2018. Circolo Italian Community in Pula. The Industry office will work throughout the entire 65. Pula Film Festival.

Matchmakingforum 2018 is Co-Operating with : Pula Film Festival, HAVC, Avvantura Festivala & Matchmaking Forum, Lithuanian Film Center, Film Center Georgia, Slovenian Film Center, Film Center Serbia, Macedonian Film Agency, Film Center of Montenegro, Kosovo Cinematography Center, Fondacija za Kinematografiju Sarajevo, Film Center Sarajevo and Bookfair "Sa(n)jam knjige"

The first Matchmaking forum in Pula will consist of the following events:

• CO-PRODUCTION MARKET (18.07. – 20.07.2018) : 

The number of international projects will remain around 15 projects. The partner projects will have the possibility to encounter financiers through 30-minute one-to-one meetings.

• WORK IN PROGRESS (18.07. - 19.07.2018) : The first edition of this workshop will present a limited number of quality projects in postproduction countries of the partnering film centers (Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Bosna & Hercegovina, Montenegro, Lithuania, Kosovo and Georgia) and will give them the opportunity of finding the post-production financing through our partners and the participants.

• MATCHING STORIES AND FILM (19.07. - 20.07.2018) : For the first time in the Southeast European market Matchmaking forum launches in cooperation with the book fair "Sanjam knjige", the matchmaking of literary works with film and TV industry. Regional leading publishers will suggest adaptation rights of contemporary regional literature (novels, essays, comics, children's literature and so forth) to producers, directors, distributors and TV houses.

The Matchmaking forum will offer services such as the B-2-B Club,  the Work in Progress Screenings, a Business Centre, international panels and networking events.

PULA FILM FESTIVAL is since 65 years one of the central film industry events in southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean. From the very beginning, it was a boost to the establishment of many companies, projects, authors, producers, distributors, actors, directors, other talents and the initiator of the film industry.

AVVANTURA FESTIVAL & MATCHMAKING was the first film festival in Croatia since it´s launch 2010 to focus on European co-productions and the industry organizing 2010 a roundtable on the topic of setting a film destination and launching the first film office in Croatia. Under the patronage of Eurimages AMF collaborated among others on the programs of Torino Film Lab, co-organized "Kin Kong" the first International Independent Cinema Congress, held a Documentary Campus Master School, Organized "Scream" the first conference of genre film, presented EAVE program in Croatia, organized various training programs, panels, lectures and other events, and was partner of the Producers Network at the Marche du Film at Festival de Cannes.

AMF and PFF are creating in 2018 a unique Synergy with the new Industry program MATCHMAKING FORUM in Pula. The goal is networking, encouraging the strengthening of the film culture and industry.
